Does anybody know how to bypass the “safety” feature on a factory in-dash DVD player?
My friend has a 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer and it comes with the built in factory navigation and DVD player. When you have a movie playing and start to move, it blacks out the screen and continues to play just the audio. Yes, I already understand it’s the law and all that, please don’t give me a lesson on safety and driving rules. How do you de-activate that feature so he can play music video DVD’s while driving. There must be a sensor wire to bypass or trick into thinking the vehicle is stopped all the time. Called a stereo shop and they said they would do it for $100, but it would be a rip off if they just need to clip one wire or add a resistor or something.

the video system can see the vehicle moving becasue of the gps antenna the antenna needs to be open with a relay so the nav system don’t notice the car is moving
