Thinking of opening your motorcycle parts shop? we all think? good investment?
I was lying in bed last night and was thinking to myself on the opening trade of parts for motorcycles, dealing with parts for bikes as possible, including some of the older bikes from the 70's if at all possible. I've dealership within about 15 miles from me that deals with the Kawasaki and Suzuki and Yamaha bikes and parts. How good investment of the people that this is how I go about getting started?
Questions to think about: Did you ever start a business before a primary or manager? your market will support a bike store for the older Bikes? Is it worth the cost of the inventory amount of business in the area, or a very efficient mail order? How will you finance your business? Do you know the approximate monthly costs and break even point for sales? Do you know how to balance their books and create business plans that banks will accept the funding? You have mechanical ability and experience with older engines? Would you be able to help your customers? Why should I, as owner of the older Harley, come to your store as opposed to mail order or other bike shop, I could assume part of my special order? Did you do the little work before? Do you like it? Have you considered other businesses that would could have a better margin? Including electric vehicles, bicycles, scooters, and so on? Do you understand that the smaller cars, scooters, motorcycles and so on will become very popular as oil prices continue to soar. (search "peak oil")
